WRITERS ROOM

New play development is at the heart of Life Jacket’s mission. Our WRITERS ROOM champions the next generation of LGBTQ+ playwrights and supports them in telling original stories inspired by real people and events. Through an annual open call, we select a diverse cohort of early-career writers and provide something too often in short supply: dedicated time, space, resources, and a creative community where they can take risks and develop bold new stories that can shape the future of American theater.
